The green , living leaf , symbolic of nature and the environment, lies at the mercy of the human being whose mark, the distinctive thumbprint , must be such that it harmonises and becomes one with the environment, conserving rather than destroying the inheritance of future generations held in trust by all.

The "Green Leaf" Award seeks to reinforce this message and to honour those who have made significant contributions to environmental

conservation and preservation of our beloved Trinidad and Tobago
